Ethan Allen Chapter
Recognized for Excellence
At Convention
|
|
On Saturday, June 14, members of the Ethan Allen
Chapter of the DeMolay Leaders of New Jersey received numerous awards
at the annual State Convention held at the Wildwood Convention Center.
The Ridgewood-based group earned Second Place in New Jerseys
Chapter of the Year competition through completing a
broad array of community service, educational, social and athletic
events. In addition, Past Master Councilor Chris Gasorek, age 18
of Weehawken, received the coveted and rarely-given Meritorious
Service Award. Only two boys in the state earned this award this
year and none received it last year. Lee Beattys, Executive Officer
of New Jersey DeMolay, commented, Chris was an outstanding
leader of his chapter organizing fundraising events, membership
drives, and civic service opportunities, all while having fun playing
paintball and sports, and attending dances.
